When you think of vintage art you think of vintage artists. People like: El Greco, Henry Moore, and Pablo Picasso. Among that group is Vincent Van Gogh. Known as one of the most jeered artists of the 1800's, Alan Honour takes us step-by-step on how van Gogh got to the point of where he is now in Tormented Genius: The Struggels Of Vincent Van Gogh. Everyone had to go though some type of struggle before you can relax – some more then others – like Vincent Van Gogh.
In the author's note Alan Honour said “ Vincent van Gogh, the great painter, was ignored” (Honour, 11) . Van Gogh was not always considered a great painter. It was not till after his death that everyone noticed. At the time when he was a painter van Gogh's paintings could probably only get him enough money to get him a soda. Now they are worth thousands of dollars. The picture on the front cover of the book is a hand drawn picture of Vincent. It looks very lively. The pictures that van Gogh has drawn are a mixture of bright colored pictures and dark obfuscated ones as well. Then when you start to read the first chapter and it explains van Gogh's early life. On sundays van Gogh and his family would always go the the grave yard to visit his brother. He hated it because he always saw his name written on the grave stone. Van Gogh never really had any friends. The only person that Vincent ever really talked to and shared his feelings was this younger brother Theo. His parents did not care for him that much. They sent van Gogh to a boarding school where he made no friends. After van Gogh finished school he went to work with this uncle in an art gallery. There is where he started to notice his love for art. Van Gogh would also write to his little brother Theo in three different languges. Sometimes when he could not think of how to write out this thoughts he would just draw them out to this younger brother Theo. I have not finished the book yet but by reading the table of contact I can see that I will be reading about van Gogh's muse. Alan Honour also go in to depth in ever chapter so I will be learning a lot. He was know for this different techniques of painting. And in this boo I will be able to know why.

The whole reason why I did a satire on the Lakers losing to the Cavs was because everyone was ready for the Lakers to win, especially Kobe. Everyone thought that since the Cavs had lost so many good players the Lakers had it in the bag. But hard work and dedication always pays off. Something that the Lakers had to learn the hard way. My hyperbole in the video was during the Cavs' practice. I made it seem like they never make a shot , that the never played basketball a day in their life. The irony was that even though the Cavs lost all those people the Lakers still didnt win. The oxymoron was that this was a funny tragedy. Everyone laughed at the fact that the Lakers still havent won but they were also upset and angry. Lakers Vs. Cavaliers
With a great season so far and a record of 46-23 everyone though that the Los Angeles Lakers where ready. And with great players like Kobe Bryant, Lamar Odom, and Pau Gasol – just to name a few – many think that the Lakers are a dream team. And with the team averaging 102.2 points per game, there is no wonder that everyone thought that the Lakers where ready for the Cleveland Cavaliers. They Cavaliers on the other hand are not off to the best start. With a record of 17-46 only people that had faith in them were the people of Cleveland themselves. But with good players like Alonzo Gee, Daniel Gibson, Joey Graham, and Ramon Sessions – just to name a few – hope was still there. Cleveland also averaged 95.8 points per game. During the 2009-2010 season the Los Angeles had not one but two devastating losses against the Cleveland Cavaliers. First game Lebron James coming out with 26 points, Shaquille O'neal with 11, and Mo Williams with 28. And on the Laker side Kobe Bryant with 35 points, Pau Gasol with 11, and Ron Artest with 13, we weren’t surprised that the Cavaliers had won. The second game was closer with Lebron with 37 points, O'neal with13, and Hickson with 11. Lakers player Kobe had 31 points, Gasol with 13, and Odom with 10. The Lakers where tired of losing to the Cavs. When Lebron, got traded to the heat, the Cavs weren’t that happy anymore. With numerous losses, the Lakers were ready. So they thought. After the cavaliers were beaten 112-57 by the Lakers on Jan. 11, they weren’t playing around after that embarrassment. “Playing the finale of a seven-game road trip, the Lakers spent much of the night looking as if they were already on vacation.” said the associated press. And boy did the Lakers get a rude awakening. (for more information on the players, team and games vis http://www.suite101.com/content/julius-caesar-and-cleopatra-a224138
